Free AI clipper with no watermark What's real, and what it costs
Almost every free AI clipper puts a watermark on your exports. It is how they turn the free plan into a paid one. Opus Clip and Vizard both watermark their free tiers, and removing the mark is a paid feature at both. Reelify's free exports carry a small watermark too, and we'd rather say that up front. The difference is what removing it costs: $59 once on Mac, with no credits, no minute meter, and no subscription.
Free to start. No credit card, no credits, unlimited clip exports. For Apple Silicon Macs.
Which free plans watermark, and which do not
We checked the pricing pages of the clippers people compare most. Here is what their free plans do to your export.
| Free plan | Watermark | Other limits | Clean exports start at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opus Clip | Yes | 60 minutes a month, projects expire after 3 days | Paid plans |
| Vizard | Yes | 60 credits a month, 720p export, 3-day storage | Creator plan (billed by credits) |
| Descript | Yes | 60 media minutes a month, 720p export | Hobbyist plan |
| Reelify for Mac | Yes, a small one | Full AI clipping on 2 videos, no minute meter | $59 once, no subscription |
| Reelify for iPhone | Yes, a small one | No limit on videos or transcription | iPhone paid plans |
From each vendor's pricing page (Opus Clip, Vizard, Descript), checked October 2026. Plans change, so check the vendor's page before you commit.
You will see "no watermark, free forever" claims in comparison blogs. Tools that genuinely export clean on a free plan tend to be manual editors or ones with a small credit allowance. If a tool promises both clean exports and AI picking unlimited clips for free, read the fine print. That combination is the one that doesn't exist, as we explain in free, unlimited, AI-picked: you can have two.
What it costs to get rid of the watermark
If you clip every week, the question stops being "is there a free one" and becomes "what is the cheapest clean export". For a weekly one-hour podcast, which is about 260 minutes of video a month, it looks like this:
| Option | How you pay | Over 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| Opus Clip Pro (300 minutes a month) | $29 a month | $348 |
| Reelify Creator, Mac | $59 once, no credits | $59 |
Opus Clip monthly billing shown, from its pricing page. Annual billing is cheaper and still metered.
On a Mac, the Creator license removes the watermark and the 2-video limit in one payment. The AI still runs on your own machine, so there is nothing to meter and nothing to renew.
Judge the watermark before you pay to remove it
A small mark is easy to misjudge in a screenshot. The honest test is to clip one of your own videos and look at the export.
-
Clip one real video on the free plan
Full AI clipping on 2 videos, with as many exports as you want. No credit card.
-
Look at where the mark sits
Check it against your captions and your platform's UI. For clean, watermark-free exports, upgrade to Creator.
-
Decide if clean exports are worth $59
For client work, a brand channel, or a weekly show, they usually are. For a one-off, stay on the free plan.
When a free watermarked plan is enough
Free is fine if
- You are testing whether AI clipping suits your content
- The clips are drafts, internal, or for a personal page
- You clip a video or two now and then
Go clean if
- You post for a brand, a client, or a paid community
- You clip every week and need a predictable cost
- You have an Apple Silicon Mac. See the Mac app.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free AI video clipper with no watermark?
Among the AI clippers most people compare, the free plans at Opus Clip, Vizard, and Descript all add a watermark, and removing it is a paid feature. Reelify's free exports carry a small watermark as well. Manual editors can export clean for free, but then you find the clips yourself.
Does Reelify add a watermark?
On free exports, yes: a small Reelify watermark, on both Mac and iPhone. Paid plans export without it.
How do I remove the Reelify watermark?
On Mac, the Creator license is $59 once with no subscription, and the Starter plan is $15 a month. On iPhone and iPad, the paid plans remove it.
Is there an Opus Clip alternative with no watermark?
For clean exports without paying a monthly meter, Reelify for Mac is one option: free to try, then $59 once for watermark-free exports and unlimited AI clipping. Its free plan does carry a small watermark.
Can I get Opus Clip without a watermark for free?
Not on its free plan, which watermarks exports and expires projects after 3 days. Watermark-free export is on its paid plans. A modified app cannot change how the service renders your clip.
Why do free plans add watermarks?
Processing video costs money and the watermark is free advertising. It also gives people a reason to upgrade once they are using the tool for real work.
See the export before you pay for anything
